Hi lovely,

This week’s ONE THING is something I wish every woman could truly believe.

After weight-loss surgery, your body changes—but many women continue living as though they need to make themselves smaller. Not physically, but emotionally.

We apologise before we speak. We stay quiet when we have something to say. We avoid asking for what we need. We shrink our opinions, our achievements, our presence.

So this week, your ONE THING is to:

let yourself take up space

Not because you’re louder than everyone else. Not because you’re trying to be the centre of attention.

But because you deserve to be seen, heard and valued—without apologising for it.

Many of us spent years believing we were “too much.”

Too big. Too emotional. Too needy. Too noticeable.

Or we believed we should stay grateful for whatever we received, rather than asking for more.

Those beliefs don’t automatically disappear after surgery.

Sometimes your body becomes smaller—but your confidence is still trying to hide.

Confidence isn’t about making yourself bigger than anyone else. It’s about no longer making yourself smaller than you are.

This week’s practice — NOTICE · STABD TALL · SPEAK UP

Step 1 — NOTICE

Pay attention to the moments when you instinctively shrink yourself.

Maybe you:

  • apologise when you’ve done nothing wrong
  • hesitate before sharing an opinion
  • avoid being in photos
  • minimise your achievements
  • stay silent to avoid inconveniencing others

Awareness is the first step.

Step 2 — STAND TALL

This week, make one small choice to physically and emotionally take up space.

Stand a little taller.

Make eye contact.

Wear the outfit you’ve been saving.

Sit at the table instead of hiding at the edge of the room.

Let yourself be present instead of trying to disappear.

Step 3 — SPEAK UP

Choose one moment this week to use your voice.

Share your opinion.

Ask for what you need.

Accept a compliment without dismissing it.

Say “thank you” instead of explaining why you don’t deserve the praise.

Every time you do, you’re teaching yourself that your presence matters.

A small reflective coaching question

Where in your life are you still making yourself smaller—and what would change if you believed you were already enough?

Your weekly mantra:

A note from me.

For so many years, I believed confidence meant waiting until I looked a certain way or felt completely ready.

Now I know confidence grows every time we stop hiding.

You have worked incredibly hard to create this new chapter of your life.

Please don’t spend it trying to disappear.

You deserve to be seen. You deserve to be heard. And you deserve to take up the space that has always belonged to you.
