Hi lovely,

I've been thinking about how often we wait to feel confident before doing something new. I know I've done it myself.

We tell ourselves we'll give it a go when we're more prepared, more comfortable or a little braver.

But something I've learned through my own journey, and my years as a coach, is that confidence rarely arrives before we take action.

So this week's ONE THING...

DO SOMETHING THAT SCARES YOU

I want you to think about something you've been wanting to do but haven't quite found the courage to try.

Maybe it's joining a class.

Going somewhere on your own.

Starting a conversation with someone new.

Speaking up in a meeting.

Trying an activity you've always been curious about.

Or wearing something you've never felt confident enough to wear.

Nothing dramatic. Nothing dangerous.

Just something that makes you feel a little nervous.

Because here's what I've learned.

Confidence isn't something you wait for. It's something you build.

And one of the ways we build it is by proving to ourselves that we can do things even when we're feeling uncertain.

For many women, particularly after weight-loss surgery, old fears and insecurities can linger long after our bodies have started changing.

We might still avoid situations because of how we used to feel about ourselves.

But the woman you are today deserves the opportunity to discover what she's capable of.

And sometimes that discovery begins with one small, brave decision.

This week’s practice — CHOOSE · ACT · CELEBRATE

Step 1 — CHOOSE

Think of ONE thing you've been avoiding because it makes you feel a little nervous.

Not something overwhelming or genuinely unsafe.

Something that stretches you just beyond what's familiar.

Ask yourself:

"What have I been wanting to try?"

"What's actually stopping me?"

"What's one small step I could take?"

Choose something manageable that feels meaningful to you.

Step 2 — ACT

Now do it.

Don't wait until you feel completely confident.

You might still feel nervous. Your heart might race a little. You might wonder whether you're making a mistake.

That's okay.

Start small. Take a friend if that helps. Give yourself permission to be a beginner.

And remember, you can always stop or adjust your plans if something doesn't feel right.

The goal isn't to eliminate fear.

It's to discover that a little nervousness doesn't always have to stop you.

Step 3 — CELEBRATE

Afterwards, take a moment to recognise what you've done.

Not whether you were brilliant at it.

Not whether everything went perfectly.

But that you gave yourself a chance.

Ask:

"What did I learn?"

"What surprised me?"

"What might I try next?"

Every small act of courage gives you another reason to trust yourself.

A small reflective coaching question

What have I been putting off because I'm waiting to feel confident—and what might happen if I gave myself permission to try it now?

Your weekly mantra:

A note from me.

I don't want you to look back and realise you spent years waiting to feel ready.

There are experiences to enjoy, people to meet and things to discover about yourself.

And you don't need to be fearless to explore them.

You just need to be willing to take one small step.

So this week, lovely, be a little brave.

You might just surprise yourself.
