Hi lovely,

I've been thinking about how easily we can fall into the habit of saying no. No to invitations, new experiences, meeting people or trying something different.

Sometimes we're genuinely not interested. But sometimes, we're simply nervous, uncomfortable or worried about what might happen. And I wonder how many wonderful experiences we miss because of that automatic response.

So this week's ONE THING is a little different!

SAY YES!

For the next seven days, I want you to become someone who says YES to life a little more often.

Yes to the invitation.

Yes to trying something new.

Yes to meeting someone.

Yes to going somewhere you've never been.

Yes to an opportunity that makes you feel a little nervous but also a little excited.

Because here's the thing.

We can become so comfortable with our routines, our habits and our familiar surroundings that we stop noticing how often we're turning down opportunities to experience something different.

And after weight-loss surgery, when so much of your life and identity may be changing, there's an opportunity to discover new things about yourself too.

Perhaps you've spent years avoiding certain situations because of your weight, confidence or fear of judgement.

But what if those old reasons no longer need to make your decisions?

This isn't about saying yes to everything, particularly anything that compromises your health, safety, values or boundaries.

It's about recognising when fear is making a decision that curiosity could make instead.

This week’s practice — PAUSE · SAY YES · EXPERIENCE

Step 1 — PAUSE

For the next seven days, notice your automatic response when an opportunity comes your way.

Before saying no, ask yourself:

"Do I genuinely not want to do this, or am I simply uncomfortable?"

"Am I saying no because of an old fear?"

"Could this actually be fun?"

Give yourself a moment to consider what's possible.

Step 2 — SAY YES!

When something feels safe, manageable and interesting, challenge yourself to say YES.

Accept the invitation.

Join the conversation.

Try the new activity.

Go somewhere different.

It doesn't need to be dramatic or expensive. Sometimes saying yes to a spontaneous coffee with a friend is enough.

And remember, you're always allowed to change your mind.

Step 3 — EXPERIENCE

After each YES, take a moment to reflect.

What happened?

How did you feel?

Did you enjoy it?

Did you surprise yourself?

Not every experience will be amazing. That's not the point.

The win is giving yourself the opportunity to find out.

A small reflective coaching question

What opportunities might I be missing because I'm automatically saying no—and what could become possible if I started saying yes a little more often?

Your weekly mantra:

A note from me.

I don't want you to look back and realise you spent years waiting to feel confident enough, thin enough or ready enough to enjoy your life.

You don't have to wait.

There are people to meet, places to discover, things to learn and experiences to enjoy right now.

So this week, be a little curious. A little adventurous. A little braver.

You never know where one small YES might lead.
