It’s wonderful to have goals. They give us direction and purpose.
But there’s a difference between working towards your future and postponing your happiness until you get there.
After weight-loss surgery, it’s easy to think:
“I’ll feel confident when I lose another 10 kilos.”
“I’ll buy new clothes when I reach my goal weight.”
“I’ll go on that holiday when I look better.”
“I’ll have my photo taken when I’m happy with my body.”
Before we know it, we’re putting our lives on hold.
The truth is, your journey isn’t something to rush through. It’s your life.
Every conversation, every walk, every celebration, every laugh with family and friends is happening now—not someday.
When we’re constantly focused on the next milestone, we miss the joy, growth and confidence that are available in this moment.
“Life isn’t waiting for you at your goal weight. It’s unfolding right now.”
